Omar Boraie stands tall as the proud father of the city of New Brunswick. He has adopted this new Jersey City as his own and has worked tirelessly for the last four decades to bring the city to a state of prominence.
This dream was born while Omar Boraie was traveling throughout Europe. He saw many great cities during his time there and wondered why New Brunswick was not as influential as these. He vowed that when he returned to the United States of America that he would get to work immediately and help New Brunswick, New Jersey become the thriving city he knew it had the potential to be.
According to Rutgers, he developed a plan in four parts which has allowed New Brunswick to become a hotbed of economic activity. The first part of this amazing plan was to make the area a more friendly community. He knew that the backbone of any society is the family. He gave large donations to several churches and asked them to host events that built community among families.
The second part of Omar Boraie’s plan was to secure the job market that was in constant flux. The area of New Brunswick, New Jersey had been losing jobs at a rapid rate. Many people were fearful that the largest employer, Johnson and Johnson, would get up and leave for another city. Omar Boraie realized that the rumors were true. Johnson & Johnson was considering moving their factories elsewhere. Omar Boraie began working with them to develop a strategic plan that allowed Johnson & Johnson to stay in the city, gain profits, and increase their workforce. The third part of Omar Boraie’s plan was to bring together all the different influencers of the city. This coalition was tasked with aligning their visions with the growth of New Brunswick.
The fourth part of Omar Boraie’s plan and perhaps the most essential was bringing back a strong middle-class. He wanted to focus specifically on the middle class young professional. Many young professionals are struggling to gain prestigious office space and procedures residential homes. Omar Boraie used this want to his advantage.
Omar Boraie built prestigious real estate and offered it for a middle-class price in order to compete with surrounding cities. When young professionals were looking to relocate, they saw these affordable prices in New Brunswick which helped them to move their practices to there.
